Newly restored dining room and kitchen, and even brought back the Porterhouse plaques

Durant’s Steakhouse, a Phoenix landmark since 1950, reopened for dinner on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, following a comprehensive restoration in celebration of its 75th anniversary. The restaurant, now under the ownership of James Beard-nominated brothers Mike and Jeff Mastro, their father Dennis Mastro, and partner Scott Troilo, has been meticulously renovated to preserve its iconic character while introducing modern enhancements.

The restoration includes a new gourmet kitchen, refurbished signature red booths and walls, vintage neon signage, and the famous pink exterior. The private dining room, closed since the 1970s, has also been reopened. “This was truly a restoration, not a remodel. We have preserved Durant’s legacy while elevating the experience,” said owner Jeff Mastro.

Guests will enjoy classic dishes such as the Porterhouse steak for two, Prime Rib, caviar service, Lobster Thermador, and Crispy Veal Parmesan, alongside new menu additions. The restaurant continues its tradition of honoring porterhouse plaques and dessert tokens.
Executive Chef Marc Lupino and Executive Chef Felix Ruiz will lead the culinary team, ensuring exceptional cuisine and service. The Mastro family’s award-winning hospitality will further enhance the dining experience.
