Barbie: A cultural Icon is coming to Phoenix

The Exhibition

Barbie’s popularity is still strong, as the Phoenix Art Museum has announced that it will be hosting a special event on Valentine’s Day in celebration of the iconic doll.

Barbie: A Cultural Icon will exhibit 250 vintage dolls, including the original Barbie from Private collectors David Porcello and Mattel. And Yes! The life-size Barbie mirror-pink Corvette will be in the Exhibit.

Additionally, there will be over 50 Historical objects, life-size fashion designs, and video interviews with Barbie designers on five custom-made Barbie Dream House TVs.

In conjunction with ” Barbie: A Cultural Exhbit,” the museum will also present “The Power of Pink,” an exhibition curated from the Musem’s fashion design collection.

” The Power of Pink” will examine the complex history of the color pink, the evolution of its role in fashion, and its influence on prominent designers like Valentino, Dior, and others.

The Exhibit opens on Valentine’s Day, February 14th, and runs until July 7th.

The Phoenix Art Museum is open from Thursday to Sunday and closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
