I was invited by Volkswagen to Seattle, Washington to the launch of the 2017 Volkswagen Golf Alltrack, I was excited to test drive the new Golf Alltrack in Seattle’s beautiful roads, and experience its scenic views and my fav coffee.
Our accomodations were in the beautiful and urban chic Kimpton Palladin Hotel in dowtown Seattle. Perfect location just 3 blocks away from the famous Pikes Place Market and 4 blocks from the first Starbucks – how is that for a welcome to Seattle.
We had a packed agenda, but first a tour of Pikes Place Market the oldest farmers market with enchanting and unique shops, remarkble seafood ( the smoked salmon was exqusite ) it’s simply a must see while in Seattle. Loved that Volkswagen brought us to dine at the market and utilized local Chef’s from the Market which created a superb cusine and dinning experience.
After a presentation by the Volkswagen Team on the New 2017 Golf Alltrack – the new edition to the VW fleet, off we went to Brainbridge Island, our first mode of transportation was a ferry and in the bowels our encouter with the Golf Alltrack which simply captivates you with its beautiful Lollipop Red and its distinctive front, with a redesigned bumper and added underbody guard, a matte-aluminum low-profile radiator grille crossbar extending into the headlights, a lower silver crossbar that incorporates standard foglights and unique black honeycomb grilles. Just Screams Adventure and thats what we were going to do, but first lets find the co-driver.It was nice to be teamed up with Antonio from Motor Mavens, learned so much about photography.
Bainbridge Island is a picture – perfect charming town. Home to the Olympic Peninsula known for its natural beauty, its roads were such a pleasuer to drive in the Golf Alltrack with crisp-clear ocean views and green lush landscapes and having Apple CarPlay gave us the perfect song everytime. In its interior the Golf Alltrack is equipped with a long list of modern comfort, convenience and entertainment features, including power windows, locks and mirrors, rearview camera, Bluetooth® technology and Volkswagen Car-Net® Security and Service. KESSY® keyless access with push-button start is standard equipment on SE and SEL trim levels, as is the Fender® Premium Audio System, while Climatronic® automatic dual-zone climate control is standard on SEL models. The Alltrack S is equipped with an eight-speaker audio system, all at your fingertips.
It was time to get the Golf Alltrack dirty! So we did and the Alltack takes on the hills, mud, turns with ease and precision as its 4Motion system is activated before any wheelspin occurs, helping eliminate nearly all traction losses. The system achieves this by using an advanced control function based on specific driving conditions. So you can drive on any terrain with confidence.
The Golf Alltrack is not your granddaddys station wagon. The Alltrack uses Volkswagen’s powerful yet fuel-efficient 1.8-liter TSI® turbocharged and direct-injected four-cylinder engine, which makes 170 horsepower and 199 pound-feet of torque. The TSI engine will initially be offered with a six-speed DSG® dual-clutch automatic transmission, with a six-speed manual transmission available later in the model year. The latest generation 4Motion all-wheel-drive system features a fast-acting center differential. Golf Alltrack will be available in three trims—S, SE and SEL ready to take you to new places, allow you to view many sunsets, make new friends which are the best kind of trips.
The 2017 Golf Alltrack is schedule to hit dealers in Mid-October.
Until next time,
Dont forget sharing is caring!
